Did you know? Loma Linda School of Nursing students actively participate in mission trips all over the world.
A Commitment to Service at Home and Abroad
At the Loma Linda University School of Nursing, service is at the heart of our mission. Through Community-Academic Partners in Service (CAPS), students can engage in local outreach initiatives, while Students for International Mission Service (SIMS) offers global mission trips to locations such as Brazil, Peru, Tanzania, Mexico, and Kenya.
Loma Linda University is proud to send more healthcare professionals on mission trips than any other academic health science center in the United States. Join us in making a lasting impact—wherever service calls.
Serve, Learn, and Make a Difference with SIMS
Students for International Mission Service (SIMS) provides Loma Linda University (LLU) students and health professionals with transformative short-term mission opportunities across the globe. These interdisciplinary teams, composed primarily of LLU students from various schools and programs, engage in hands-on service that aligns with the needs of local communities.
SIMS mission trips typically range from seven days to three weeks, with activities tailored to the priorities of the hosting organization. Depending on the destination, teams may provide primary medical care, dental services, public health education, children’s programs, and spiritual outreach—offering essential support to underserved communities.
To encourage student participation, the School of Nursing offers up to $750 in sponsorship for a student’s first mission trip. For more information on available opportunities, call 909-558-8089 or email sims@llu.edu.
